Marcel Martinez

A native of Cuba, Marcel came to the U.S. in 1997. Marcel went on to win the National High School Championship in 1998 and he won the U.S. Junior Championship in 1999.  Here are two of his victories over grandmasters:

Rodelay Medina

Rodelay was also born in Cuba, where he learned to play chess at the at the age of seven.  Last year he won one of the strongest High School Championships in recent memory which drew the participation of 10 masters and 1 WIM.
